Mackay Foot & Ankle are new to Mackay with Wayne the Principal Podiatrist
having recently moved to Mackay from Brisbane, where he had been the lead Podiatrist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital as well as Principal of his own private practice.

Wayne has worked with a range of fantastic professionals including GPs, Orthopaedic &
Vascular Surgeons, Endocrinologists, Infectious Diseases Consultants, Prosthetists
Orthotists.

After 8 years at the Princess Alexandra Hospital Wayne stepped fully into the private
sector and brings with him vast experience that only public sector can provide. Wayne
developed services and implemented projects that improved access & outcomes for
diabetic patients across the Brisbane Metro South District.

Wayne has presented and provided education at a range of local and statewide
conferences and was an expert panel member on “The Diabetic Foot” at the Australian
Orthopaedic Association (Qld) conference in 2016.

Wayne was recently engaged by the Mackay Base Hospital and continues to be retained
for services as required.

Wayne’s specialist interest areas include:
Biomechanical assessment & provision of custom orthoses and medical grade footwear.
Paediatric assessment and management of develpomental disorders.
Nail Surgery for problematic recurrent ingrown toe nails.
Diabetic assessment and wound care.

He will be based at Rural View but will also service Ooralea, Walkerston & Marian.
